Dolciaria Val d’Enza, established in 1977 and headquartered in Canossa (Reggio Emilia, Emilia Romagna), is a leading player in the Italian market of ambient premium tartlets and pies. With annual production of 115 million tartlets, Dolciaria Val d’Enza operates out of two modern, efficient production lines, one for tartlets and one for pies, in an innovative plant built in 2000. Dolciaria Val d’Enza’s extensive portfolio includes high-quality and premium products, both under its own Dolci del Castello brand and under white labels.
In 2017, Alto Capital III sold Dolciaria Val d’Enza to Valeo Foods, a large international producer and distributor in the food sector (controlled by pan-European private equity fund CapVest), following a sale process coordinated by Vitale & Co. Prior to the sale, Alto Capital III opted to spin-off Artebianca, in order to exploit the unexpressed potential of such investment.
