Drogheria e Alimentari was founded in 1880. Since 1987, the Carapelli and Barbagli families have been its main shareholders. Thanks to the entrepreneurial skills of the families, Drogheria e Alimentari rapidly became a leader in the Italian spice and herb market. The company markets its products, both in Italy and abroad, through the retail channel and cash & carry under its own brand (Drogheria&Alimentari) and with private labels. Drogheria e Alimentari employs over 130 staff members in its manufacturing facility of S. Piero a Sieve near Florence (Tuscany), one of the most modern and advanced in Europe.

In September 2014, the Fund sold its stake in Drogheria e Alimentari to a pool of institutional investors.
