Bia, founded in 2004 in Argenta (Ferrara, Emilia Romagna), is a leading European producer and distributor of high-quality couscous. Bia offers a broad range of couscous varieties, both organic and conventional, based on whole and durum wheat, spelt, corn and rice, and other cereals and legumes. The company markets its products both under its own brands and as a white label producer for large industrial players and retailers. Bia has enjoyed sustained growth over the years, with exports amounting to 60% of revenues. Bia’s workforce includes 70 full-time employees.

In October 2022, Alto Capital IV sold its stake in Bia to BF S.p.A., holding company of the Bonifiche Ferraresi group, one of the Italian main players in the agroindustrial sector.
